Italy exceeds 100K coronavirus Deaths


The Italian Ministry of Health said the number of COVID deaths in Italy exceeded 100,000 on Monday.

According to the Ministry, in the past 24 hours, another 348 people have died and the number of
casualties has risen to 100,103. 


This is more than a year after the death of Italy's first COVID-19, the 78-year-old Antonio Trevisan in the Veneto town of Vo'Euganeo

The Ministry of Health pointed out that in the past 24 hours, a total of 13,902 new cases of COVID have been detected, which is lower than the 20,765 cases on Sunday. 


The total number of cases since the beginning of the epidemic is now 3,081,368. In the past 24 hours, 184,684 tests have been conducted, compared with 271,336 on Sunday. 

The positive rate dropped from 7.6% to 7.5%, a decrease of 0.1%. Intensive care cases increased by 95 cases, and the number of hospitalizations increased by 687 cases.
