Portugal: Vaccination plan likely to exclude children and pregnant women

The Minister of Health Marta Temido has made some new recommendations for the vaccination plan.

After the "Vaccination Working Group" communicated to the government about priorities/logistics and other aspects, she talked to reporters in Lisbon, and she emphasized: "Current data does not recommend vaccination of children or pregnant women."

Once again, she spoke abbout "inquiries" regarding target age groups and efficacy. She added that "clinical trials mainly involve people aged 18-55".

According to the Minister: ''Since these tests were completed in record time, there is no conclusion on the "length of immunization time."

Ms. Temido added that the agency has scheduled a meeting on January 12 to "evaluate the Moderna vaccine."

In fact, she suggested that the initial launch "will be marked by maximum access restrictions."
