Microsoft to build Data Centers in Greece


Microsoft today announced its "GR for GRowth" plan, a major technological commitment aimed at providing support for people, governments and businesses of all sizes in Greece through technology and resources to create new growth opportunities. 


 

As part of the plan, Microsoft announced its intention to establish a new data center that will establish a Microsoft cloud region in the country, thereby adding Greece to the world’s largest cloud infrastructure and providing low-latency enterprise-level cloud services Access. 

 

In order to support citizens' professional and personal ambitions, Microsoft also announced plans to enable approximately 100,000 people in Greece to master digital technology by 2025.

Microsoft President Brad Smith made the announcement together with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Theodosis Michalopoulos, General Manager of Microsoft Greece, Cyprus and Malta at the New Acropolis Museum.

"Today's commitment to the people and businesses of Greece will place the country among the European digital leaders. The Microsoft data center area provides a competitive advantage for our digital economy. At the same time, it is a long-term investment that is full of potential for our country Confidence. The cloud is changing every industry and sector. Greece has the skills investment of 100,000 citizens, which will power the Greek workforce today and in the future," said Premier Mitsotakis.
