Coronavirus: new cases in Italy, deaths increased

The Civil Protection Department announced on Thursday that Italy had registered 333 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

This is generally stable compared to 329 new cases registered on Wednesday. The Department said 216 new cases, 64.8% of all, were registered in Lombardy, the region most affected by the disaster.

It was found that only four regions did not report any new cases on Thursday - Umbria, Valle D'Aosta, Molise and Basilicata.

The Protezione Civile said 66 COVID-19 sufferers had died in the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of fatalities to 34,514. It was over 43 deaths on Wednesday.
